It’s been a long time coming, but PLorigin officially started offering a new formula . . . Cramp Relief Salve. And, yes, it is to help alleviate the pain, bloating, fatigue and aches that many women have right before and during their monthly menstrual cycle.
I have been tweaking the original “recipe” (I have a paper copy dated 2/1/19!) for over 3 years now and recently decided it was ready to push off the shelf and into more people’s hands. I have tested this product with MANY different women and, while a very few said they didn’t experience much relief, the overwhelming majority of the women I offered it to were thrilled to say that it made a HUGE difference in how they felt going through their menstrual cycle.
Comments like “I could actually sleep because my lower back pain went away when I rubbed this product on it” and “I could walk normally because my belly cramps disappeared”. Mary said she found she wasn’t hunching over and hugging her belly during that 2nd and 3rd day of her cycle because the salve helped that much with her cramps. Taisha told me her mood swings eased up and she was closer to her normal cheery self during those tough days. Most of the women just said the pain and cramping either went away or diminished when they rubbed this salve onto their belly and/or lower back area. Ellen stated that she still had a little soreness and bloating after applying the salve, but that most of the pain went away so she was able to focus and finish out her day without being cranky, foggy brained, and exhausted.
Each of the above comments (and ALL of the other feedback I received) helped me to tweak this recipe to make it what it is today.
While the base of this salve is similar to the other PLorigin products, the essential oils used in it were chosen for pain management, hormonal balance (read mood swings!), relaxation and de-stressing properties.
The base of this salve contains organic coconut oil, sweet almond oil, beeswax (can be made without it, however, the salve will be much thinner/softer), cocoa and shea butter.
Essential oils list for this product: eucalyptus, peppermint, rose, chamomile, clary sage, lavender, rosemary, cinnamon, tea tree, geranium, ylang ylang, marjoram, basil, lime, ginger, black pepper, clove, oregano, and thyme.
Like the other products offered at PLorigin, it is offered in three sizes. A 1 ounce tin for $20 + $3 S&H, a 4 ounce glass container for $68 (normally $80, that’s a 15% savings!) and an 8 ounce glass container for $120 (normally $160, that’s a 25% savings!). S&H of $3 for 1 ounce orders only, all other orders of more than 1 ounce will have a flat fee of $5 for S&H.
